Remember When: Al Freeman, Jr. October 1981
One of my all time favorite actors on One Life to Live was Al Freeman, Jr. who portrayed intrepid chief of police Ed Hall from 1972 to 1985. A Daytime Emmy Award winner as well as one of the first African-American directors of a soap opera, Al Freeman, Jr.’s contributions to the daytime medium have unfortunately been almost forgotten. Hopefully this article will remind people of the his considerable talent in daytime and beyond. This article, written by Sy Syna, appeared in the October 1981 edition of Soap Opera Magazine.
