The Best of Everything, which aired on ABC from March 30, 1970 until September 25, 1970 focused on the lives of four young secretaries in a publishing firm: Linda, April, Kim and Barbara. It also featured a ruthless, she-devil of a boss named Amanda and a compassionate matron to the girls named Violet. Although short-lived, the series has an established place in daytime lore as being the only show in which one of the main characters, Kim, was brutally attacked by a man who it turned out was a squirrel. And yes, you did read that right.
By far my favorite character on this show was Linda Warren played by the fabulous Patty “The Bad Seed ( SO I HIT HIM AGAIN!) McCormack. Now if only OLTL had cast her as Irene Manning...
