Days of Our Lives fans will find blasphemous: I have never enjoyed John and Marlena together. Call me old school but I’ve always seen Marlena and Roman as endgame. Still, with the news that Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn are about to reprise their roles, I thought the time was right to take a stroll down memory lane and remember one of John’s great love affairs.
Happening at a time when John still believed he was Roman, his pairing with Genie Francis’ Diana Colville was a great surprise from beginning to end. In this article, originally appearing in the

Here is my two cents on this as a long time Days fan, the original Roman and Marlena worked well together. The John Black/Roman storyline did not work and either did the two actors. So this is my long way of saying you are completely correct on this view.
